Legend (Rosewood High #7) – Tracy Lorraine ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Legend is the final book in the Rosewood High series, and, wow, am I sad to see this group of characters go. Thorn was my first book by Tracy Lorraine ever, and it set off my love for her words and her stories, one which I am sure will continue for many years to come. But saying goodbye to the characters that started it all off is bittersweet, because although Tracy has set up her future interconnected projects to so well, I don’t want to leave the Rosewood Bears behind.
Kyle Legend has just been released from juvie, after a year, and all he wants is to move on from his past life in Harrow Creek. So when his older brother Kane tells him they’ve moved, he’s excited for a fresh start, until he finds out their new home is Rosewood, which is also where the girl he wants to get revenge on for her involvement in his arrest lives. Harley Hunter is getting ready for her final year of high school after all her senior friends graduate, and although all her friends are now coupled off, she’s excited for the chance to be the assistant cheer captain. So, when she discovers that Kyle is a new student at Rosewood High, and has been quickly welcomed by her older brother Zayn and accepted into the football team crowd, which means her friendship group, she’s suddenly on edge, waiting for him get revenge after what she did. But when he does, their mutual hatred is outshone by their chemistry, and although they aren’t happy about their feelings, they continue to push each other to the limits. But when someone else who was involved that fateful night reappears, this time, will Kyle be the one to protect Harley?
The conclusion to this series had everything I’ve come to expect from Tracy, steam, suspense, a true enemies to lovers romance, and so many strong friendships. Kyle and Harley knew how to push each other’s buttons perfectly, and although it was clear from the start that their lust was going to win over their hatred for one another, it was fun to watch their journey to ending up together.

Kyle had taken the fall for something that he wasn’t responsible for, and just wanted to get the girl he blamed back, despite his history of feelings for her. But deep down, he knew it wasn’t her fault, and I think inside he quickly forgave her, even though he didn’t outwardly tell her that until later on. But his need to protect her went all the way back to that night, and when he found out she could be endanger again, even though he didn’t want to, he did whatever he thought was right to keep her safe. I loved how he fit in with the boys so quickly, how him and Ash had this almost unspoken bond because they had both come from such rough backgrounds and were gratefully to have been given the opportunity they had to make something more of themselves.
Harley felt guilty for how she started the ball rolling on what turned out to be the worst night of Kyle’s life, but she did what she though was right when she found herself in a terrible situation. I felt for her, because she felt responsible for what had happened, when it wasn’t her fault at all. She tried her best to keep her distance from Kyle on his return, but in the end, she wasn’t given much of a choice, as it was proved that she needed his help with something important for her future. Those sweet moments between them were some of my favourites, don’t get me wrong the hot and heavy scenes were intense and so steamy, but the moments when they both let down their guards and were their real selves, with no ulterior motive solidified their feelings for me. As always, Harley’s girls had her back, although Stella is so badass, I need more of her ASAP, she’s such a mystery.

Although this wasn’t my favourite of the series, I still enjoyed Legend, and I think my main problem with the plot was that it just felt too long, like it was dragged out at some points. But Harley and Kyle’s chemistry, their back and forth, kept me hooked, and I was eager to see how they got their happy ending. Tracy has set up her Madison Kings University series so well with that ending, and I am so excited to read Kane and Letty’s story next, it’s bound to be a good one! Once again, I am sad to see this series go, but it will always have a special place in my heart as the series that made me fall in love with Tracy Lorraine’s books.
